Identifying the Spyware/Adware/Dialer Program
Download the latest spyware pattern file and scan your system. Note all files detected as ADW_TARGETSOFT.A.
Trend Micro customers need to download the latest spyware pattern file before scanning their system. Other users can use Housecall, Trend Micro’s free online virus scanner.
Removing Autostart Entries from the Registry
Removing autostart entries from the registry prevents the adware from executing at startup.
Open Registry Editor. Click Start>Run, type REGEDIT, then press Enter.
In the left panel, double-click the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\
Still in the left panel, delete the subkey:
TargetSoft

NOTE: If you were not able to terminate the adware process as described in the previous procedure, restart your system.
Removing Services Entries from the Registry
Open Registry Editor. To do this, click Start>Run, type REGEDIT, then press Enter.
In the left panel, double-click the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>System>CurrentControlSet>Services
In the Services folder, look for the folder WS2IFSL and delete it.
Close Registry Editor.
Deleting Adware File
Open Windows Explorer. Right-click Start and click Explore.
In the left panel, navigate to the Widnows system folder, which is usually C:\Windows\System or C:\WINNT\System32.
In the right panel, locate and delete the following files:
SpOrder.dll
Wincore.dll
CidRules.dll
Inetadpt.dll
WinUpd.dll
Monitor_ch.dat
All files detected as ADW_TARGETSOFT.A.
If one or some of the files can't be deleted, restart in safe mode.
Close Windows Explorer.
