this dll refers to a dll package in the direct x 9 or 10 series by downloading that it will or rather should fix the issue having to nab this dll.

When i downloaded star wars galaxies it said the application failed to initialise because d3d9.dll was not found so i downloaded it and extracted it to C:WINDOWSsystem32 but it said i need a password :s what is it?

make sure u have service pack 2 installed as well. "That looks like an outdated DirectX install. Make sure you update with the latest service pack from MS, and also update your DirectX install."

Okay. Say I can\'t download direct X because I\'m on the school\'s computer which has security on it and i cannot save anything on the local drive because anything saved will be removed once the computer restarted. I\"m trying to play Kart Rider as well.

it says D3D9 Application not found, Nothing will be rendered, you only have half the application download DIRECT X SDk even though i already did.

I've got exactly the same problem, folks : after placing the d3d9.dll in the system32 folder of Windows, when I lounch my programm (nuendo with Motu Symphonic Instrument - a midi sampler) it goes : DdEntry10 not found in the dynamic link library.
What should I do? Is it another .dll to be downloaded this Ddentry10?

This d3d9.dll is too old, install the latest DirectX and copy the d3d9.dll from C:\Windows\system32

the extraction should be made in the following path: C:\WINDOWS\system32
extract it there then try running the program/game again

...Using this file as an example, you would type regsvr32 d3d9.dll

If the above download doesn't solve your problem, go to www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/ and download the latest version of DirectX. That will mostly solve your problem.
